What is a Money Market Fund?

A money market fund invests in low-risk, short-term assets like cash, treasury bills, and certificates of deposit. It focuses on safety and easy access to your money, while aiming to earn slightly more than a regular savings account.

When you put money into Yield, Airwallex buys units from these money market funds. A unit in a money market fund is your portion of the fund's total holdings. The fund's total value divided by the number of units gives the per-unit value. Your Yield account generates returns if the unit price goes up over time.
