What is an FIRC and how do I get one?

What is an FIRC?

FIRC stands for Foreign Inward Remittance Certificate.

It is an official document, issued by an authorized bank in India, that serves as proof you have received a payment from a foreign country. It is a critical document for regulatory and compliance purposes, most commonly used to:

  • Claim Goods and Services Tax (GST) refunds on exports.
  • Report transactions to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
  • Validate the source of funds for tax filings and audits.

How do I get an FIRC from Airwallex?

0If you need an FIRC for a transaction processed through our platform, please contact our customer support team with your specific transaction details.

As we are not a bank, we will coordinate directly with our authorized banking partner to issue the certificate for you.

Important Note on Fees: Please be aware that there may be a fee associated with issuing an FIRC. This fee is not set by Airwallex; it is determined by our banking partner who generates the certificate. Our support team can provide you with the specific fee details upon your request.
