You can move funds between accounts in the same organisation to manage liquidity more easily.
Use this feature to transfer funds between your organisation’s accounts without manually entering destination account details.
Before you begin
To create a transfer between accounts:
- You must have Transfer create/edit permission on the source account to select and send from it,
- You can see all accounts in the organisation as destination accounts,
- You need View balance permission to see the balance of the destination account.
Transfers between accounts are subject to your organisation’s transfer approval workflow, using the same approval flow as transfers to external payees.
How to transfer funds between accounts
- Go to Transfers in Airwallex.
- Select Transfer between accounts.
- Select the to account from your organisation’s account list.
- Enter the transfer amount and required details.
- Submit the transfer.
If your organisation uses approvals, the transfer will be sent for approval before it is completed.
What you’ll see after the transfer is settled
Once settled, the transfer can appear in both accounts’ transaction history:
- The from account shows a debit entry
- The destination account shows a credit entry
A transfer confirmation letter is also available for download after the transfer is created or approved. It includes the source and destination account details, including account name, nickname, and 16-digit account number.
Limitations
Transfer between accounts in an organisation is not supported through the Client API. API customers can still use Airwallex Pay to initiate a transfer using the destination account details, and fees may apply.
Availability may also vary depending on the entity or region associated with the account.
