Summary
Apply a theme to billing entities and payment accounts so your branding appears on invoices, checkouts, payment links, and customer emails for those resources.
Applying a theme controls how customer-facing pages look for a specific billing entity or payment account. You can apply a theme when you create it, or apply or change it later from the Themes page.
What applying a theme does
| Product area | Apply to | Customer touchpoints affected |
| Billing | Billing entity | Digital invoices, checkouts, billing emails |
| Payments | Payment account | Payment links, payment emails |
Each billing entity or payment account can have only one active theme at a time. Applying a new theme to a resource replaces the previous theme for that resource.
Apply a theme when creating it
Go to Settings → Themes and click + New theme.
Complete the theme details and click Next.
On the apply screen, select the Billing entities and/or Payment accounts you want.
Click Create.
Apply a theme to an existing resource
Go to Settings → Themes.
Expand the theme card you want to apply.
In the Applied to section, click + Add.
Select the billing entities and/or payment accounts.
Confirm the application.
Alternatively, use the Manage menu on the theme card and select Apply theme.
Remove a theme from a resource
Go to Settings → Themes.
Expand the theme card.
In the Applied to section, find the billing entity or payment account.
Click the remove (trash) icon next to it and confirm.
The resource reverts to the Airwallex theme default branding.
Permissions for applying themes
Applying a theme to a billing entity or payment account requires permission to edit settings in that product area:
| Action | Permission needed |
| View which themes are applied | View access to Billing or Payments settings for that resource |
| Apply or remove a theme | Edit access to Billing or Payments settings for that resource |
For example, to apply a theme to a payment account, you need permission to edit Payments settings for that account. To apply a theme to a billing entity, you need permission to edit Billing settings for the organisation.
You also need permission to view Themes to open the Themes page and permission to edit Themes to be able to edit any themes. See Themes: frequently asked questions for the full permissions breakdown by role.
