Understanding your wallet balances

Cash Balances is displayed on the top of the Wallet page by currencies, and each currency Cash balance will display three distinct types of balances: Available balance, Account balance, and Reserved balance. This article aims to explain the meaning of each of these balances.


Noticeably, you may also see other balances on the Wallet page in addition to Cash Balances based on your product usage, and will aggregate to your Total balance.


Available balance

Your available balance represents the funds that are currently accessible for making transactions. It is subject to regular updates throughout the day as you initiate transfers, conversions, or as funds are settled into your wallet.

Account balance

Your Account balance represents the cumulative amount of funds present in your wallet. It is calculated by combining your Available balance and Reserve balance.

Pending or Reserve balance

The Pending balance comprises all funds that are temporarily held such as pending card transactions and pending refunds for online payments acquired through Airwallex. The Reserved balance comprises funds reserved from online payments batch settlements as well as fixed reserves. Pending or reserved funds can be returned to the Available balance in situations such as the cancellation of a pending card transaction or the release of a reserved online payment refund.
