This article explains how you can freeze or cancel a company or employee card.
Freezing a card prevents any further transactions from being made on it virtually, physically, or on any of your devices (Google Pay / Apple Pay). It is reversible, and you can unfreeze a card easily at any time.
- Admins can freeze or unfreeze any cards in the account
- Employee cardholders can freeze or unfreeze their employee or company cards, provided it was not frozen by an admin
To freeze a card, navigate to the card details page, and tap “Freeze card”.
Cancelling a card permanently closes the card. No card transactions can be made on the card once it is cancelled Please note that this action cannot be reversed.
- Admins can cancel any cards in the account
- Employee cardholders can cancel their employee cards, but cannot cancel company cards
To cancel your card, navigate to the card details page. In the “Manage card” dropdown, you will see the options to freeze or cancel.
When a user is removed from your organisation, Airwallex will automatically cancel their employee cards to reduce the risk of improper card spending.
