Understanding Transfer Fees in your Wallet

We are making changes to how transfer fees are displayed in the Wallet and related reports. In this article, you'll learn about these changes and how they impact reports and bank feeds.

What’s changed?

For transfers created after August 14, 2024, transfer fees will be displayed as separate transactions in the Wallet and Wallet reports. When you create a new transfer that includes a fee, you will see two transactions in the Wallet transaction list for that transfer; a Payout and another line for the Fee.

For example:

Please note that transfers created before August 14, 2024, were recorded as a single transaction

How does this impact reports?

We have launched new versions of the Balance Activity Report and Transaction Reconciliation Report to assist you with this transition. When you generate a Balance Activity Report or Transaction Reconciliation Report you will be presented with the option to download either a new or legacy version of the report.

For transfers created after August 14, 2024, the new version of each report will display transfer fees as separate transactions. The legacy version will display all transfers as a single transaction that combines the transfer and fee amounts. This includes transfers created before and after August 14, 2024.

For more details on the new (v1.1.0) and legacy (v1.0.0) versions of these reports, refer to the report documentation.

How does this impact the Airwallex Bank Feeds?

From August 14, 2024, the Xero Bank Feed will sync transfer fees as separate transactions. Other bank feeds will be updated over the coming months. We will notify you when the bank feed that you are using is updated.
