Global Accounts give your Borderless Cash account local bank details in individual countries and regions, so you can receive top-ups and payments from customers, marketplaces, and business partners. Funds received into a Global Account are automatically added to your Borderless Cash account - a Global Account does not hold money.
You cannot initiate outgoing transfers or withdraw funds directly from a Global Account. Where Direct Debit payouts are available, the Global Account's Capabilities panel shows Payout via, and you can give your Global Account details to a third party so they can collect funds from your Borderless Cash account by Direct Debit (see How to payout via Direct Debit from my Global Account).
See An Airwallex Account is not the same as a Global Account for how a Global Account is different from your bank account.
Global Accounts are found in the Global Accounts tab of a Borderless Cash account. The tab lists every Global Account you have created for that Borderless Cash account.
You can create a Global Account in two ways: select New Global Account in the Global Accounts tab, or select New Global Account from the ⋯ menu on a Borderless Cash account page.
View your Global Accounts
Before you begin: You must have View permissions for Global Accounts in at least one Borderless Cash account.
First you need to open your Borderless Cash account page:
- In the left menu, select Business Accounts. The section expands to show favourited accounts and a Show all link.
- In the expanded list, select the account name to open the account’s page.
- Select the Global Accounts tab.
For an account not shown in the list:
- Select the Business Accounts menu item again, or select the Show all link, to go to the Business Accounts overview.
- In the Accounts table, select the account row. Alternatively, select the row's ⋯ button, then select View details from the menu.
- Select the Global Accounts tab.
The tab lists every Global Account in that Borderless Cash account. The table includes the following columns:
| Column | Description |
| Name | The Global Account’s nickname on the first line and its account name on the second. The nickname is yours to edit; the account name is the one payers should use when sending funds. |
| Bank account number | The account number used to receive funds into this account. |
| Bank location | The country or region where these bank details are issued. |
| Currencies supported | The currencies this Global Account can receive. Some Global Accounts support multiple currencies, not only the local currency of the bank location. Not every supported currency can be received through local payment methods; some can only be received by international SWIFT transfer. |
| Status | The current status of the Global Account. |
Global Account statuses
| Status | Meaning |
| Active | The Global Account is ready to receive funds. |
| Processing | The Global Account is pending activation. This occurs if additional verification is required which can take up to 72 hours to process. |
| Closed | The Global Account has been permanently closed and is no longer available for use. |
| Failed | Creation or activation of the Global Account was unsuccessful. Please talk to Kai (our AI assistant) for recovery. |

- Filters: select the Filters button to open the filter panel and narrow the results.

Seeing a different version of the Airwallex platform?
You may be on the previous version of the Airwallex platform. See Revamped Airwallex experience: one place to run your whole business (beta) for more information on the change.
The best way to confirm if you are on the previous version is to check your left sidebar column for any mention of Business Accounts. In the same sidebar, you can also check that you do not see Wallet or Transfers.
Certain actions and pages may not be visible if you have not been given sufficient global or account permissions.
