Step 1. Link your Australian bank account
1. Navigate to “Business Accounts” and click “Add funds”
2. Select the Borderless cash account you wish to add funds to
3. Select “Add funds from Linked Bank Account using PayTo”
4. Select the bank account owner from the dropdown menu.
This includes the UBOs associated with your account. Please fill out the bank account details of the bank account owner.
There are 5 account identifier types available:
- BSB + bank account number
- Note: If you do not find your bank’s BSB in this list, submit a request
- Phone number
- Australian Business Number (ABN)
- Organisation Identifier
You are also required to set a maximum transaction amount on this Linked Bank Account. This will be the maximum amount allowed per PayTo transaction.
- Important note on maximum transaction amount: Each bank could enforce additional measures such as automatically rejecting PayTo authorisation requests if the maximum transaction amount is above a pre-defined threshold. For most banks this value would be 25,000 AUD. For some banks such as Westpac, transaction amounts over 1,000 AUD will be declined.
A copy of the PayTo agreement will be sent to the bank account owner’s email address after the PayTo agreement has been authorised.
If your bank does not support PayTo, we will send 2 micro-deposits to your external bank account for verification. When you’ve received the micro-deposit, you may go back (either via the reminder displayed on your Dashboard or by going back to the Linked Accounts page) to input the micro-deposit amounts and complete verification. Please note that this Linked Bank Account will not support adding funds via PayTo.
5. Confirm that the account details are correct
Click “Link”, and a PayTo agreement will be sent to the Bank account owner’s Online/Mobile banking system.
6. Verify your bank account
Log in to the external bank account and follow the instructions provided to authorise the PayTo agreement. Once the PayTo agreement is authorised, you will be able to add funds via PayTo.
Step 2. Add funds from Linked Bank Account using PayTo
1. Click on the “Add funds” button to go to the add funds page
Alternatively, you may also go into “Business Accounts” and click “Add funds”.
2. Enter your desired amount
Please be reminded that the amount you add is subject to the maximum transaction amount configured when setting up the PayTo agreement, as well as a preset daily limit. To increase the preset daily limit, you can contact your Account Manager or our Support Team through our WebApp.
FAQs
Why did I receive small test deposits instead of a PayTo payment agreement in my banking app?
This happens when your bank's BSB is not listed in our records as a participating financial institution for PayTo. In this case, we fall back to verifying your account via small test deposits. If you believe your bank does support PayTo, please submit a request.
Why did I not receive any PayTo payment agreement?
Please check the notification history in your banking app. The agreement may have been declined by your bank as part of their automated risk checks. If you see a declined agreement, we recommend re-linking your bank account and setting a lower maximum payment amount than your previous attempt, as the decline may have been due to the amount exceeding your bank's threshold.
If you do not see any records in your banking app even though the Linked Account is pending verification, please contact us.
Why did the PayTo payment agreement fail before reaching me?
This could be due to either of the following:
- Your specific bank account type does not support PayTo.
- Please check your bank's website for the list of account types that support PayTo.
- The maximum payment amount you set is higher than what your bank allows.
- We recommend re-linking your bank account and setting a lower maximum payment amount than your previous attempt.
What is a suitable maximum payment amount to set for the PayTo payment agreement?
This value differs depending on the bank and account type. For most banks this value is 25,000 AUD. For Westpac Group banks (Westpac, St. George, BankSA, and Bank of Melbourne), payments over 1,000 AUD will be declined.
