To make it easier for you to top-up funds to your Airwallex wallet, you can now initiate direct debits against your other bank accounts, all within the Airwallex web app.
Note: All accounts also have a preset daily direct debit deposit limit; to raise this limit, you can contact our Support Team here.

Verification requirements to enable Direct Debit existing Hong Kong Linked Bank Accounts
Previously, you may have created a Hong Kong Linked Bank Account. In order to enable Direct Debit for an existing Hong Kong Linked Bank Account on the web app, deposit verification is required (more information on deposit verification in this guide). Note: API customers can refer to the API documentation.
Existing deposit verified Linked Bank Accounts will be able to directly approve the electronic Direct Debit Authorisation (eDDA). Micro-deposit verified Linked Bank Accounts will need to first upgrade the verification type before enabling direct debit deposits.
Because deposit verification adds additional checks on top of micro-deposit verification, it is possible for verification to fail. That is, an existing Linked Bank Account that was previously micro-deposit verified can now fail verification. In order to re-establish a Linked Bank Account that fails verification, the account must be deleted, linked again, and deposit verified.
For Amazon sellers with an active micro-deposit verified Linked Bank Account
If you are using Airwallex to receive payments from Amazon, you must have an active Linked Bank Account in order to continue using Airwallex to receive payments from Amazon. If your active Linked Bank Account was micro-deposit verified, and deposit verification fails, you must re-establish an active Linked Bank Account within 45 days to ensure your Amazon payments are not impacted. For more information, you can contact our Support Team here.
How to enable Direct Debit for an existing, deposit verified, Hong Kong Linked Bank Account?
1. Click on “Add funds” on your Dashboard or Wallet tab
2. Click on “Direct debit from Linked Bank Account”
3. Direct debit authorisation
As part of the Direct Debit Authorisation process, Airwallex will use your selected form of identification (previously associated with your account during onboarding) to establish the direct debit authorisation, and identification details will be verified by your bank. Please ensure that the bank account owner details are accurate, otherwise, we may fail to verify the account.
If you need to add an account owner or additional form of identification, you may contact support.
Once your bank verifies the provided information, you will be able to add funds via Direct Debit, using the “Add funds” method shown above in Steps 1 and 2. For Hong Kong, if your bank account supports both currencies, you will be able to top-up with both HKD and CNY!
We will send a copy of the Direct Debit Authorisation to the bank account owner’s email address, once the Linked Bank Account is verified and your bank confirms the identification information.
Note: Currently, if you make any changes to your Direct Debit Authorisation from your bank’s site or app, it will trigger the cancellation of functionality of direct debit deposits from Airwallex. You will have to re-authorise direct debit.
